Father’s Day and Golf go hand-in-hand and some of the best golf in Washington State lies within the Bellevue Area. Set amidst the natural beauty of the Puget Sound region, many courses provide scenic views along with distinctive golf experiences. If golf is your Dad’s game, pack your clubs and get ready to tee off!
The Golf Club at Newcastle perched on 350 hilltop acres, The Golf Club at Newcastle provides impeccable service and unimaginable panoramas from the course and from the beautifully appointed clubhouse and dining room. Fred Couples teamed with Bob Cupp to create 36 holes of championship golf and the course also features year-round practice facilities and a putting course. The Rusty Putter is Newcastle's 18-hole natural grass putting course featuring water features, bunkers, and great views. Newcastle offers views of Bellevue, Seattle, Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains.
Bellevue Golf Course is a public golf course, maintained by the City of Bellevue and managed by Premier Golf Center, LLC. The course measures 6,013 yards from the blue tees. Don't let the yardage fool you as this course plays tougher than its yardage as golfers manage the beautiful tree-lined fairways. Crossroads Golf Course is a nine-hole chip/putt golf course that is an excellent beginner, short game, and family course that takes about an hour to play. Willows Run Golf Complex is a 45-hole layout with two unique 18-hole courses, Eagle's Talon and Coyote Creek, a 9-hole Par 3 short course, Heron Links, and an 18-hole family putting course, Rainbow Run.
TAKE A SCENIC HIKE
Rattlesnake Ledge Trail is a 5.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near North Bend, Washington that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
Rich in historical artifacts, lush foliage, wooden bridges, and waterfalls, the well-groomed and well-traveled Coal Creek Trail is a satisfying hike for families, trail runners, history buffs, and avid hikers. This out-and-back trail can be started from the west (Coal Creek Parkway parking lot), east (Red Town Trailhead parking lot), or from one of many spur trails along the route.
WHITEWATER RIVER RAFTING OR KAYAKING
Get Dad’s adrenaline going on a river that spans throughout our area, whitewater rafting and kayaking opportunities abound. The rivers vary from big water paddling to technical creek runs and offer some of the most beautiful paddlings in the world. Our scenic and snow-capped mountains that call Washington State home make for many different outdoor adventure options for our visitors including dramatic whitewater kayaking and rafting choices that these mountains provide that offer memorable experiences for all ages and abilities. Area guides offer day-long or multi-day beginner kayak instruction courses and private whitewater kayak instruction near Bellevue. They also offer specialty clinics and guided whitewater kayaking adventures for intermediate and advanced paddlers as well.
