Bellevue’s free electric shuttle service, BellHop, has officially reached a major milestone: 250,000 passenger rides served. To celebrate the occasion, BellHop surprised its 250,000th passenger with a special gift tote filled with snacks, Bellevue merchandise, and local goodies as a thank-you for being part of the journey.
“BellHop has become part of people’s routines,” BellHop driver Brandie said. “We have regular riders who I’ve gotten to know over time, and there’s a really welcoming energy on board. It feels personal and community-driven.”

Launched in 2023, BellHop has quickly become a recognizable part of daily life in Bellevue, offering residents, workers, and visitors a free, fully electric, on-demand transportation option throughout downtown and surrounding neighborhoods. The service was created to make local travel easier, reduce short car trips, and support a more connected and sustainable city.
“Over the past two years, BellHop has helped riders get to restaurants, shopping destinations, hotels, offices, parks, and community events while providing an accessible and environmentally friendly way to move around Bellevue,” said Brad Jones, the Executive Director of Visit Bellevue. ”This milestone reflects how much the Bellevue community has embraced BellHop. We’re grateful to every rider who has chosen BellHop as part of their day, and we’re excited to continue growing alongside the city.”
The 250,000-passenger milestone highlights the growing demand for flexible microtransit solutions in Bellevue as the city continues to evolve into a more walkable, transit-connected urban center. BellHop operates as a free service for riders and is powered entirely by electric vehicles, supporting Bellevue’s broader sustainability and mobility goals.
As BellHop looks ahead to the next chapter, the team says the focus remains the same: creating convenient, community-centered transportation that helps people experience Bellevue more easily and sustainably.
