Bellevue Breweries Win Big at the 2025 World Beer Cup

Bellevue just earned serious bragging rights on the global beer stage.

This past weekend, two of the city's local breweries, Bellevue Brewing Company and Resonate Brewing Company, took home top honors at the 2025 World Beer Cup, the most prestigious beer competition in the world. With 8,375 entries from 1,761 breweries across 50+ countries, this competition is often referred to as “the Olympics of beer” for good reason.

Gold and Silver for Bellevue’s Finest

Resonate Brewing struck gold with their Lithium beer in the German-Style Altbier category, a classic style known for its balance, smooth malt character, and clean finish. Earning gold in this category speaks to Resonate’s technical skill and respect for traditional brewing methods.

Meanwhile, Bellevue Brewing Company brought home a silver medal for their beloved Bellevue 1882 Lager in the American-Style Pilsener category. This crisp, refreshing lager has long been a fan favorite—and now it’s officially award-winning on the world stage.

Organized by the Brewers Association, the World Beer Cup has celebrated international brewing excellence since 1996, helping beer lovers discover the best of the best across more than 100 beer styles.

What sets the competition apart is its rigorous judging process. Not every category sees gold, silver, and bronze handed out—medals are only awarded when judges agree the entries truly exemplify the highest standard of brewing. This year’s awards were announced in Indianapolis during the Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America®.

“When industry professionals acknowledge the excellence in products from around the market, the beer drinker can be sure that those brands are the finest available,” says Chris Williams, World Beer Cup competition director.
