The collection of pop-up art galleries at Avenue Bellevue's street-level storefronts feature a variety of exciting pieces from world-renowned and emerging artists. Art on the Avenue is organized by Silverstein Properties via their non‑profit Silver Art Projects, known for supporting emerging artists through programs like the World Trade Center residency.
Starting this summer, Avenue Bellevue is now offering free guided tours of the seven gallery spaces, which feature works by 12 local artists from Bellevue and Seattle, alongside 25 celebrated national and international talents. Starting at 5:30 p.m., the hour walking tour is provided on Tuesdays. After the tour, guests will receive 15% off drinks at LE BAR, the lobby lounge and bar located inside the InterContinental Seattle Bellevue.
Local artist Scott Chreist is displaying his selection of abstract paintings, known for his innovative use of acrylic paint and organic liquids. There is a wonderful selection of acclaimed works of contemporary street art from trailblazing artists like boogieREZ, ASYLM, Dragon76, Lady Aiko, SUPER!, AfroSPK, Manone and more. Contemporary artist WhIsBe, short for "What is Beauty," is presenting one of his seven foot tall "Vandal Gummy" bear sculptures in the gallery. Nearby, Taezoo Park's work features discarded television sets and computer monitors in his Digital Begin series to spark discourse over e-waste.
Unlike traditional gallery models that often take a substantial cut of sales, Art on the Avenue offers a commission-free structure—allowing artists to retain 100% of proceeds from their work. This direct-to-collector approach not only empowers creators financially but also fosters more authentic connections between artist and audience. By removing gatekeeping and commercial pressure, the initiative creates a more equitable platform for both emerging and established talent to showcase and sell their work on their own terms.
