About

We were founded in November 2009 by a small team of women who recognized that very few services existed to meet the needs of sexually exploited individuals—and we set out to see how we could help, driven by the belief that everyone is worthy of love and worthy of a life without exploitation. When REST started in 2009, the majority of organizations turned away sex trafficking victims because the trauma experience was too complex and the symptoms too overwhelming, implying survivors didn't deserve exit services. We disagreed! As we discovered gaps in existing services, we committed to building them, always informed by the people we served. This relationship-first and needs-based model has driven REST’s growth. From early outreach to building relationships, REST has evolved into a vital service provider. Today, we offer survivor-centered, trauma-informed services for hundreds exploited in the sex trade annually. As a Christian organization, we provide respectful services to individuals of all faiths. Our values focus on unconditional care, relationships, strengths, minimizing barriers, and walking with clients on their journey to freedom. Faith engagement isn't required; instead, we offer a healing environment where survivors can incorporate their own spiritual beliefs comfortably.
