The Lake Hills Greenbelt Park is comprised of 150 acres of wetland, forest, streams, lakes, and diverse wildlife. Within 3+ miles of trails and natural green space, visitor can enjoy picnic areas, non-motorized water access, waterfront, fishing, community gardens, pea-patches, blueberry farms, and seasonal farm-fresh produce stands. The 5-mile long Lake to Lake Trail bisects the park, giving visitors the opportunity to walk, run, or bike.
The park is home to two small lakes, Phantom Lake and Larsen Lake, offering fishing and paddling opportunities. A non-motorized boat launch is available for visitor use at Phantom Lake, making it a convenient destination for kayaking or canoeing. If fishing is more your thing, cast a line at either of the lakes to catch species such as Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, and Brown Bullhead Catfish.
The park is also a great place to find fresh produce and learn about gardening. Visitors can pick fresh berries during the summer months at the Larsen Lake Blueberry Farm or purchase locally grown farm fresh produce at the Lake Hills Farm Fresh Produce Stand. For those wishing to learn more about growing their own produce, free gardening workshops and programs take place regularly in the park’s Urban Demonstration Garden.
At the park’s ranger station visitors will find park information, meeting rooms, and interpretive displays as well as park rangers to answer any questions you have. For those interested in exploring nature through a more hands-on experience, the park offers various free environmental programs including a Family Discovery program series, ranger guided walks, and various guest speaker presentations.
