The summer sun is here, the days are longer, and Seafair Weekend is celebrating its 75th Anniversary. All the ingredients for an endless summer are in place, and this multi-weekend festival is the summer activity you won't want to miss. US Navy jets will take off from Boeing Field for one of the most highly anticipated moments of the summer. There are hydroplane races, a Log Boom event, Parachuters, fireworks, and all sorts of boating, jetskiing, and water-based activities throughout Lake Washington and beyond.

When is Seafair Festival?

The Seafair Festival runs from June to August, culminating in Seafair Weekend from August 2 to 4 on Genessee Park and Lake Washington.

Seattle Fleet Week Maritime Celebration

It's time to hit the Seattle Waterfront, where Seafair has been Seafair-ing since 1950. It all kicks off with the Parade of Ships on Tuesday, July 30th at 1:00 p.m. through Elliot Bay. The U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and Royal Canadian Navy will sail into town and dock at the waterfront.

Fleet Week is Thursday–Sunday, Aug.1–4, 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m, were the public is invited to Pier 46 to meet the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and Royal Canadian Navy, enjoy free music, and take ship tours. You'll need your government issued ID for the ship tours, and you'll enjoy an airport style security screening checkpoint before yo tour the three different kinds of ships brought by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, and Royal Canadian Navy.


 


 

Seafair Air Show

At Genessee Park in Seattle, get ready for a sky-high thrill at the Seafair Air Show, happening Friday through Sunday, August 2 - 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Watch the Blue Angels and other top pilots perform jaw-dropping aerobatics over beautiful Lake Washington. Kids will be amazed, but don’t forget their noise-canceling headphones if they're sensitive to loud sounds. Enjoy vintage planes, parachute stunts, and the U.S. Army Golden Knights too! And no worries about traffic—the I-90 bridge will stay open for pedestrians and cyclists during the show.

You can catch the scenery at Chism Beach Park or Meydenbauer Bay Park in Bellevue.

Seafair Weekend Hydroplane Races

Also at Genesee Park, you can see boats traveling at 220 miles an hour! From Friday through Sunday, August 2 - 4 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Offering thrilling action for all ages, expect high-speed boats and lively crowds; earplugs are recommended for those sensitive to noise. Enjoy various ways to experience the event, including visiting the pits, watching qualifying heats, and seeing the final race on Sunday.

Museum of Flight Jet Blast Bash

The Museum of Flight in Seattle is a major aviation and space museum with a vast collection of aircraft, spacecraft, and interactive exhibits, showcasing the history of flight and space exploration. During Seafair Weekend's Saturday and Sunday, August 3 - 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Museum of Flight is hosting the Jet Blast Bash! You can see the Blue Angels take off and land right in front of the museum at Boeing Field. There are family workshops, informational talks, live music, and a beer garden. All activities are free with museum admission.
